All lacrosse playing opportunities that we sponser are designed to be enriching experiences for the entire family and to encourage further growth of this great fast-paced sport.
Bridgewater Lacrosse, Inc. is a non-profit organization and was established in 1988 to promote the sport amd spirit of lacrosse. Our continued goal of giving back and improving the community is the underlying purpose of this endeavor. Bridgewater Lacrosse can proudly say that they were the leading monetary contributor to the turf field at the High School and we are working on a second field that will benefit all sports.
Bridgewater Lacrosse is dedicated to giving the youth of Bridgewater and Raritan the opportunity to become well-rounded student-athletes. Many of the coaches in our youth program were once High School Players under the highly respected Bridgewater-Raritan H.S. Head Coach Chuck Apel, and want to share their love for lacrosse with these young players. A community is built on strong relationships with the people who are a part of it. The Sweet Laxin’ Tournament is an event supported by the close-knit Bridgewater Lacrosse family, and we feel it is important to give back to our community because it has been so good to us. This year, Sweet Laxin’ wants to help raise awareness for the fight against cancer. A donation will be made to benefit The Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center for every team registered in our tournament. The Steeplechase Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer services. Supporting The Steeplechase Cancer Center helps us maintain this focus as cancer touches all our lives. The Sweet Laxin’ Tournament benefits The Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center. The $28 million outpatient facility houses the Sanofi-aventis U.S. Breast Care Program, radiation oncology services, infusion therapy, the medical center's research team, oncologists' offices, a resource library, nutritional counseling, complementary medicine services and the Sanofi-aventis U.S. Wellness Boutique. Each patient's treatment is guided by a multidisciplinary team that continually reviews and updates treatment protocols for the four most common types of cancer - breast, colorectal, prostate and lung cancers. These teams ensure we provide the most advanced care to improve the quality of life of our patients.http://www.steeplechasecancercenter.com
